I’m a U.S. worker recently let go in Aug. worked many years at Oracle. Had a team from IDC working for me. Brightest bunch of guys and women. Work hard, long hours but I was fair and put there family before work. Didn’t micromanage because they simply got it. US workers have lost there edge, they are lazy and many problematic with either the holier then now attitude or critical. Work about 3hrs a day and that’s being nice. Most are like this. Getting axed is part of life, if you stay long enough eventually your time will come. There will always be favorites and management will survive more often then the workers. Many workers at Oracle have made millions over the years but you all bash and wait for the next layoff. Layoffs are happening every month you just don’t hear about it. Part of the cycle, I can bet most of the people here work less then 3hrs a day at Oracle. Problem is you all know it’s true but you will bi--h about a company you decided to go to. Best bet is to leave and give more shareholder value. This way oracle doesn’t need to pay a severance. As far as management SC org can be consolidated, if oracle was ever acquired that Aria count would go down by 60%. Eng about 25%. There would be no difference in the productivity if this happened. It’s not just Oracle, SalesForce, Amazon, Google, Sap, Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook no different. All you do is do your job, loyalty only exist if you are very well connected. Some even volunteered to save others in Aug layoffs.
