Thread regarding Goldman Sachs layoffs

Can you believe it? Goldman says a recession may be averted

"Our economists say there’s a 35% probability that the U.S. tips into recession over the next year, an estimate that’s well below the median of 65% among forecasters in a Wall Street Journal survey. The U.S. may avoid a downturn in part because data on economic activity is nowhere close to recessionary."

"Markets should brace for a severe recession that might forever change the world economy, Mohamed El-Erian has warned. The economist said on Tuesday that a combination of pressures on supply, central bank tightening, and market "fragility" were all likely to weigh on growth."
