Sad state of affairs.
Most depressing job ever tired of begging people to take agreements . Then chase them afterwards for a payment ..
This is a slow dying company very slowly they keep cutting corners so the bottom line looks better . Looking at all these numbers only so much you can cut . It's a illusion if anyone thinks anything different like they always do . They are just too expensive people barely making it like the guy said somewhere on here 50bucks a week for a ps5 when now you can get them in the stores now for 400 or 5 hundred they want over a grand if you even make the 6 months nevermind full term . And that's another thing once people feel like they paid enough they just stop bottom line .
Only customers we been getting those trying to steal ps5 systems last Christmas it was never this . Funny thing is they are all approved got like 7 ps5 ,15 plus accounts some first and second defaults . Place is dead this holiday season.
So today the decision engine approves a guy for maximum amount when a year a ago he was a skip with 5 accounts good old decision engine nothing beats old school verification now we are being told if approved just give it to them and I am hurting in collections right now bad ..
I agree Rac is wayy to expensive I can't sell nothing this month people look at the weekly and just leave they jacked all the prices up right before Christmas. Inflation, talks of recession prices on anything you buy is at a all time high people don't want stuff from here why pay 50 bucks a week on a phone ps5 or whatever when you can make 1 payment a month if you go with anyone else like fingerhut or any of those places when you just make like a 25 dollar payment a month maybe been here 2 years and this season is bad no one wants nothing from here I totally agree with the person below they need to lower weekly rates not do stupid other things like skip a payment or pay week get week they don't work at all they keep going down this route of high weekly prices idk about this place . People eventually skip off can't keep up with the payments bottom line what are they thinking up there in home office
I work here had a couple come in for a large tv 85 brand new they walked out not because they seen the total cost but the weekly is just too high they need to do the everything above 29.99 sale again anything over 29.99 knocked down to that .
RD position will probably be cut into half. Their position is pretty much useless at this point. No need for the payroll expense for a middle man to forward emails.
Well you can thank the company for the collections problems the d-mb engine they use is horrible I have like 24 first payments defaults in my 15 plus not to mention the rest that's in there . Place is wild
I am trying to get out now collections in all the stores is bad . Managers sit in the office and throw 5 deliveries on ridiculous stuff feel like quiting but started searching for another job place is so so so bad . Get to deliveries half the stuff is broken or complete trash we need to fix on the spot these people are paying thousands for .. I absolutely hate this job wonder why we burn though people . Turnover is so high I agree with the person below can't keep people at all we don't even get out on time never always there till almost 730 or 8 just because if deliveries ain't scheduled right never and it's so tiring hope they sink the way they treat us never mind having anytime to go do runs they can take that stuff for all I care to be honest . Not my mess I didn't make a c r a p decision engine that approves everyone and it ain't my stuff . Mind you I've worked here for 4 months and it felt like 5 years already I completely understand when you work with someone 1 day and they are gone the next .
I love giving my thoughts on working for Rent A Center & seeing how we all relate. I personally have been gone from this job for almost 1 month & it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I no longer wake up stressed & anxious about how deliveries and credit are gonna go down. I think if there’s any chance to get out, you should take it.
I know the RAC ship is gonna hit the iceberg soon & I’m sure there will be mass casualties. I just don’t see it as the business it was supposed to be. It’s total disregard for its workers is part of what’s ki----g the business. Hiking up prices on everything to make a profit is a huge turnoff for customers that can’t afford to buy outright. No wonder so many people skip. It’s turned into a self sabotage machine.
I really don’t know how it’ll turn out but I hope the best. If not, I’m happy I got off the ship & I’m more than happy to see it sink from the shore.
I predict no large franchise sale, nobody will take a chance on buying small profit losing stores(that is a large part of rac's portfolio). I expect massive layoffs coming, there is no competition left to gooble up so they canabalize thier own customer base with Acima. I have seen before with rac and it was ugly.
They should have customers pick their own stuff up and assemble it save on deliveries can't even keep people more then a month they quit so far this year about 35 people just this year have left all worked a day to a week maybe a month job is overwhelming for most .
Closing a bunch of stores in the new year none are really doing well like they want .
I predict a large franchise sale West of the Mississippi and 100+ store closures.
