Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

14 months.

Cwa contract will expire and not renewed. Everyone will be locked out. Contractors brought in. Outsourced. Techs wanna work here’s 30/hr. Company is not gonna pay you 40.00/hr to work on sh-t copper plant.

Am I understanding when the CWA union contract expires it will not renew. Does that mean all union employees can be let go or what he-l happens then?

My personal feeling and from I see supervisors have been holding week long trainings and working on weekends when we have had no one in training nor work weekends. Supervisors won’t answer any Question and then leave.

Already vendors are doing are specialty teams works while we all sit and zero calls come in. What fu--ing pi---s me off is the coaches are being made to lie and. Not able to help us with training a whole team which is not supposed to be able to take our jobs. What they haven’t figured or maybe they have but do they think really they are not losing their job…..wake the fu-k up people

They did and they are and we are losing our jobs. Wake up Kate and Lumen I have copies and dates of so much cr-p that will make their heads spin. With so much illegally done last time alone. Why do you think they dropped the layoff immediately last year? because they laid off CTL then had qf work those jobs then never let vendors go before union notices went out last year. They legally are already in trouble and need to fig it out . So these vendors they are training for the same job I do and my department well hold on to your purse. Not only will I sue and come after you but will go as public as I can all way to good morning America and whoever will spread word to those who lost jobs and was illegally replaced.

For Kate and the issues with dei the end I fear is not far and might not even last long enough to be sold. Today 90% all my calls were to cancel account.

I am so furious and even more mad at myself for knowing this last year what was coming and not sticking to my plan and then to run. I would had if I hadn’t found I had cancer. It’s a he-l of a yr. My wife is so happy I still work here….not really. She’s worried and add massive medical bills. So much for enjoying older years.

People if you have not prepared or have a backup plan you need to urgently. When this happen you won’t see it coming nor hear that it hit by how we are set up and have been separated at work the etn etc all by design I assure you.

Until contract ends you can count on coaches finding fault for no reason to fire people. They did it last year and yes I have their names. It’ll happen again. A search was done already to see which employees were Union members and protected and those who are not. Amazing I know 4 that were on the list were let go for different bull sh-t reasons. I’ve never seen such sneakiness, deceit, lies, not loyal if we said any of that about our spouses we’d drop their a-s so fast - I know I would. Why he-l did I and everyone take it from Lumen.

I’m sick of living like this for a company who does not give sh-t! I’ve never worked for such a horrible place and was just hopeful it would turn around and not the home in the ship is huge and all we can do is jump and pray we find a place to land even though 64 yet cannot retire. I fear McDonald’s sh-t I never worked there as a kid.

Would love hear your feedback and what if anything you all have heard. I am in fear of the immediate future and the writing on the wall

Without the union keeping wages higher why would the company pay 30 an hour? They can attract the same garbage contractors at 20. No union scale and all the other wages go down.

Nice threat there Bachelor of Sciences. Book worm in the brain epidemic has certainly taken over this company! You see, most union employees saw the writing on the wall a while back. Most have been "preparing" for the impending doom to finally fall! You see, we have been hand wringing since the Jeff Storey days my friend. Just know, you are also in the same boat and will soon find that out...just with alot less time and monies to do it on! I wish nothing but the best for all going forward and humbly realize it could be you next.

anyone who is anti-union must not like making overtime or double time pay. and the person who posted this thread knows very little how union contracts work.

work union, live better

unions built America and unions built the middle class

good riddance. Union has been the death of previous legacy companies. Sell it and get rid of it all.

CWA will go with sale and spin off of Local assets. New companies will deal with contract or have extension in place as part of the deal.
