Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

A full RTO mandate will likely come when significant cuts are on the horizon

That’s how we’ll know they’re planning to get rid of as many of us as possible, preferably without paying severance. RTO has served as the attrition strategy for many companies, and it doesn’t matter that it’s now clear it pushes out talent alongside everyone else, while also eroding productivity and morale. Cost-cutting is the prime directive.

Not sure about your location/team/practice but in my country even before covid no one cared about working from the office. It was always remote (HO) or on-site (in fact, the majority of the clients required the office presence at least 3 days in the week, so my team was travelling). In my city, there are only about 20 desks available and 150 consultants so it does not sound like a scenario for the near future.

I agree that depends, but although I am huge fan of work from home, let us not forget that until 5 years ago it was perfectly normal to work from the office. I would be devastated, if we had to go RTO 5 days a week, but I try to keep looking at work from home like a blessing. Not something that I am entitled to for ever, this keeps me positive. :-)

I think it depends? Many Accenture clients are remote.
