Replying to @tc+1jj2xfkak networks in Houston at least are not just race. We have networks for vets, women, new hires, and pride too. Abolish one abolish all?

McDonald’s All Day Breakfast may be a thing of the past, but at least in Canada A&W still does it right.

Do you think GTF will be dismantled? IT is way more bloated than GTF is. I hope IT is trimmed significantly

The DEI sends a signal to the org that certain people are protected no matter their performance.

good-bye networks. . . .what value do they really bring to the org? Its easy for me to say I suppose because I am not in one. But having a group specifically focused on a race, not even a shared background seems discriminatory. I know, you don't have to be whatever race/origin to be in the group, but that is the status quo. They just bring division where division doesn't need to occur.

I keep seeing stuff on here about reduced DEI focus. What cost savings are you referring to here? There are only 3 people on that team. Even if all DEI efforts are cut, that’s a microscopic drop in the bucket when you compare against the cost to run a bloated org like GTF as an example. Please use common sense when spewing that rhetoric. Also I hope you know eliminating DEI = eliminating employee networks including the patriot employee network, new hire network, ect. You good with that?

I hate to break it to you but Canada will see some layoffs. Not sure exactly what that looks like but was pretty much told there was going to be cuts in workforce.

Canada has nothing to be concerned about. Its the US that should be concerned about layoffs.

  1. CP recently bought 50% stake at Surmont from Total Energies for $3 billion. Why would they do this if they don't see Canada as long term.... what to just sell it as a whole to Suncor?
  2. CP bought additional acreage in Montney from Kelt for $375 million. Why would they do this is they don't see Canada as a long-term investment.
  3. CPC makes up 5% of overall production. Has a global workforce of 870.

The layoffs are going to be focused in the US. They bought Marathon for $22.5 billion, taking on how many new employees? Canada will be unscathed.

Significant synergies in HR departments. Redundancies combined with decreased focus on DEI, recruiting and career development will result in 50+% reductions.
