Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell doesn't owe you

The complaints about TRO are ridiculous at this point. Wanting child care and full gyms? Food perks. When you worked at dell you adjusted your life to work there before remote work. For hybrids you might have to adjust again, No big deal.

Raise your kids and stop expecting others too, pack your lunch (or cook!) or stop by a restaurant and pull that credit card out the same as you do when you shop for yourself on the weekends.

Stop acting like you're owed something in life. You're not. You get a paycheck. If you don't like Dell, leave.

First it was mandatory hybrid, now it's mandatory to be in the office 5 days a week, what's next? I'm guessing we'll switch to pen and paper and typewriters.

"Here is what you should do OP. I know your type. Sit on the sidelines like you always have and just coast."

You must have a crystal ball. All talk and no substance. Sure, get your unions and class actions. Why not get your head out of the clouds instead and return back to realist. I05er

You see, Dell acts in bad faith. So do these other companies. You can’t do something, impact the workforce, then all of a sudden do something else because you decided to. Idi0t$ like you let bigger companies like Dell sc--w their workforce over. This is why we have unions.

Here is what you should do OP. I know your type. Sit on the sidelines like you always have and just coast.

Other people will put these companies back in their place.

Take the message of resistance to the bathroom walls. Register your disgust from Round Rock to Rio Grande do Sul, from Cork to Frankfurt. The Sharpee is mightier than the sword.

“ OP probably has no talent which is why they aren't leaving and are trying to encourage their talented coworkers to leave so they can grift by without doing work and not being noticed lol. What a tird of a Dell Bot you are. I'm so glad to leave a--holes like you behind when I left Dell for a fully remote job that pays me 2xs as much as Dell did. Enjoy your life of mediocrity!”

You left Dell ling ago and have a great life now so why are you hanging around these forums posting? Sounds sketchy to me

Show up, do your job and get paid. Anything else is a gift.

They actually DO owe their employees something. They have to keep their contract with them. It’s flat out misrepresentation. At the end of the day and this is nothing new for Dell since they’re a sh!t, unethical company anyway is that by waffling on the remote work they’re digging themselves deeper into a class action lawsuit which will absolutely come next.

Well dell should keep its word. "We will NEVER require mandatory in office time again." Don't lie to sell computers during a global pandemic. Maybe that's why we feel Dell owes us. They said one thing and did the opposite. We can't trust a word that comes from our leaderships mouths because they lied to see record profits during a global pandemic and then began cutting their workforce mercilessly for years.

OP probably has no talent which is why they aren't leaving and are trying to encourage their talented coworkers to leave so they can grift by without doing work and not being noticed lol. What a tird of a Dell Bot you are. I'm so glad to leave a--holes like you behind when I left Dell for a fully remote job that pays me 2xs as much as Dell did. Enjoy your life of mediocrity!

How is it a fair working environment? By going into the office you get a chance to have a career, change roles, get raises, etc.

Remote careers are dead with no promotions or role changes.

Remote and hybrid both have their pros/cons but don’t act like remotes have it made.

100% agree. I hope Dell can layoff those remotes.
Give us a fair working enviroment.

If it's that Dell doesn't owe me anything, then it's equally true that I don't owe Dell anything either.

I see the point being made here. To be transparent and fair, the term “talent” is subjective. Also, being remote I am unaffected by any RTO initiatives so it doesn’t bother me in particular.

Well this is quite the winning strategy to keep and retain talent.

But, I agree, if Dell is going to go average and below don't expect more than that commitment from their employees.
