Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

How is APJ going under PZ?

I’ve been out of the loop since leaving, but curious if anything has changed in APJ

In Aus there are no Sales people, no project management people, no commercial people and maybe 1 or 2 service people. Team lunches will be a very small affair.

Big difference from 400 people only 4 years back.

Judging by his CV the corporate babble seems to have a shelf life of about 2 years

Unless of course @1b9+1jk1aa0vm this is tongue-in-cheek irony, can anyone explain exactly what PZ actually does for Avaya, Partners, Clients? You know... apart from spruiking well-rehearsed positive outlook statements to try and delay the inevitable...

'...What.. what would you say you do here?' springs to mind 🤣

PZ has worked so hard since joining - I don’t what Avaya, the Partners and Clients would do without him. Glad he got to relax at the Sales Excellence retreat - well deserved for the 6 x months of hard work. #avayalegend

Got the three stooges in APAC - PZ, MA and CB. All three are new in the last year, the last two brought in more recently (mates of PZ) on huge salaries and then make roles redundant they’ve been brought in to do - total disgrace. #theavayaway

Nice direct questions posed to PZ. e.g. '...What was your appoinment for?' and '...How do you bring your expertise for Avaya?'

https://youtu.be/xOAwMvrrTeA?si=nvY3eMfiZHtCs3hz&t=139

Of course, like a true politician, side-stepped the questions and instead delivered usual high-level corporate wiffle-waffle responses about the '...privilege of leading Avaya' and '...refactoring the organisation into a 3 theatre (ANZ/Japan/India) operating model'.

Another corporate puppet... Lame-as... 😴😴

Avaya fell behind the tech curve a long time ago!! That’s what they should have been focusing on…good luck on the job search…looks like a lot of companies replacing Avaya. Funny…haven’t heard of any higher ups being let go…the ones who helped sink this company! But the true base & brains…the people who mastered this equipment…1st to go. Learn a new Telecom/call center solution…nobody wants Avaya anymore! We need Nortel back!!!😂

PZ talks a good talk (and of course '..brings a wealth of experience' 😉), but like all Country/Theatre predecessors is simply a hamstrung figurehead who, like all those who have gone before will be unable to reverse Avaya's fate. But hey, even failing companies need a spokesperson to keep on spuiking the company line!

…in fairness to PZ, and I have no direct experience, it’s hard to be a good leader when the only message you have to tell is jobs cuts, no product and no hope of sales!
