Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Whatever you do, don't quit just yet

If the deal goes through, layoffs will be everywhere, meaning there's a good chance you'll get severance. Things aren’t bad enough here - yet - that waiting it out isn’t an option. And if the deal falls through, you can always quit then. I’ll never understand people who are so impatient they’re willing to leave good money on the table for no good reason.

This is one of the most misguided comments I've seen.

If someone offers you a job, take it!

Having a steady income is far better than a two-month severance followed by a year of job hunting without insurance. During that time, you’ll likely rack up credit card debt and struggle with anxiety ia a already heavily flooded job market.

Honestly, Juniper seems to have some of the least informed employees.i have friends going on 12 months looking fur a job. You owe juniper nothing. They will fire you in a heartbeat.

3 month is a strict cap. Haggle and the deal is withdrawn and, in the words of Wi--y Wonka, “you get nothing”.

Coast until bonus paid then Leave.

Well, if you get a good offer, quit by all means. Don't wait for this deal to happen. Severance is probably going to be around 2 months of salary at best.
