Oracle does not have a WiFi nor switching business. Maybe “somebody” wants them to buy Mist and inorganically grow into that business. Run the Mist cloud in the various Oracle data centers and call it synergy.

You think a newly minted Trump DOJ team is going to back down and say they were "wrong"? Very doubtful - this deal is toast.

HPE is on the hook to pay $815 million termination fee if the deal falls apart or if it goes beyond the deal end date of Oct 9th. If J leadership & board are smart, they would just run the clock & explore options for better counter offers from winners like Arista, others (HPE is a loser). Then it's a better stock price than $40 and $815 million worth of free money.

The analysis in this article seems to be spot on and Bloomberg is a very reputed firm. So I would believe them over anything that the delusional J-HPE leadership is peddling. The judge assigned to this case seems to be pro competition, so good luck winning that.
