I was laid off from my ASM position in 2024, which su-ked but my hours had been drastically cut to nothing long before then anyway. Although i couldn't stand the corporate side of things, I truly loved my campus and store and my team. Well i got curious and decided to google my old store to see if the hours changed so i could visit while i was back in town and saw that all of the managers and ASM's were replaced on the website. that's 5 campuses within this university network that had their managing staff replaced. Only 1 person from a sister campus that i met when i was still there is still employed by the company and she's a manager now. what the heck happened? is Follett doing so bad that they can and will just replace all the managers? some of which had been with the university for over 10 years?

I quit for something WAY better and non-toxic and they offered the person after me $5 LESS per hour, and had the Team Lead doing all duties for months until they found someone. I hope they lose all the contracts up for bid.
As a ML I only had time to work a $3 million dollar store that had 1 Store Lead and I FT associate. The comment we didn’t do anything to increase sales is correct as all we had time to do was work as associates in the stores. The day I resigned was a huge relief. Happy housewife!
Don’t see the point of market leaders, they do very little to nothing to increase sales.
I don't see how all the VPs, Senior VPs, and Executive VPs in the Ivory Tower do anything to increase sales.
Prove me wrong.
Keep Kissing that a-s. The only way to keep your job. 🫏💋💋💋💋💋
I had a manager who was with the company for over 15 years. They made her workday a living he-l every day and eventually she left for greener pastures. They replaced her with another manager from another store who had only been with the company 5 years. Gave her more pay than the previous manager because she is a "yes" man. Sales have dropped considerably because she is not building rapport with instructors. Several complaints later, she is still employed because she has her head so far up the RM's a-s she can see out her eyeballs. The ivory tower will make exceptions for a-s kissers.
Who is next on the chopping block? Market leaders? Don’t see the point of market leaders, they do very little to nothing to increase sales.
Spring Rush has ended. Layoff season is next.
Employee retention is not a priority at the Ivory Tower.
Sad.
Yep if it will save em a buck
