Can someone explain how promotions work at HCSC ? How long after working at company should I bring this up ?

Promotions possible. In my case, I was organically promoted twice within 3.2yrs time-frame. There was no role opened and I didn't apply for anything. Now, I'm stuck at current position from last 3yrs since there is no higher position in the same career track. The only way is to keep checking workday for next pay grade role and apply for them.
My experience is they don’t promote except for people who are on an executive path (like going from Director to VP through an org change) and encourage applying for a higher level role wherever it is in the company. My situation (and for those with the same title) is there is no other role higher in my focus area although in other companies there is just because they’ve never planned for it or perhaps don’t value it. It’s been brought up on blue pulse surveys for four years in a row and it’s always denied by the managers and we are told to apply elsewhere in the company even though it means working in a different skill set too.
Ask your manager and HR for jobs in your career path. Employees generally need to be in their current role for one year before becoming eligible to post for an open role. The best way to advance is to post for a role in a different department, because budget dollars are already available for that role. Even if there is a career path, a career path promotion needs justifications, approvals, and money. I wish employees understood how many hurdles a manager has to navigate for an approval for a promotion.
You got a lot of people ahead of you that been there waiting for a promotion. Apply for a role a grade level higher than your to get a pay bump but even with that pay bump it’s not enough.
Keep checking for new roles being posted and apply, even “promotions” usually require you to apply to the new role.
As a manager there, I was told promotions were only allowed if there was a need for a higher level position. It was not to reward performance. So you could work for many years in the same position with high performance ratings and never get a performance.
I think they don’t. I joined 3 years back and worked exceptionally well for first two years yeah some may disagree with me that everyone working well. Last 3 years I got 3 ratings and got only 2.5% hike every year even though my salary is 10k below the median. My manager said no promotion for continuous 3 rating. It is really demotivated me to take an extra effort. So I left recently for a 30% hike with remote option.
Roles with career laddering probably 2-5 yrs between levels.
Some almost never allow it unless your at the pay band maximum
Outside of that, you’ll need to apply for a promotion yourself
