Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Layoffs are coming 100% in 2025?

I heard 2-3k employees will be laid off in Q2, after individual performance evaluations are shared in march. Can this be confirmed?

I don’t want to add fuel to the fire, but yes, they are doing layoffs through the end of the month. I think some areas are going to be hit worst that others.

Anyone know if they are doing layoffs? I just got a 1x1 skip level invite which is what they used last time for layoffs. My heart is racing now and anxiety out the roof because I can’t afford to be laid off right now.

Performance evaluations completed. So was this instilling fear?

Maybe someone was just instilling fear. Appears the wave is over.

RE: So they give out bonuses ...just to cut.

Yes, in previous waves, in which they made cuts, they paid out prorated bonuses + severance*.

So they will give out bonuses and raises just to cut staff?

Are the layoffs over? For those laid off are you being allowed a month or two weeks until the last day to work?

Confirmed. Just got laid off. They are laying off leadership positions. I was a top performer.

If your manager is telling you there are no more layoffs coming, they're definitely not in the loop. They don't know - and they won't know until right before. Don't stress - just know it's a thing and be as prepared as you can be.

Centene is doing anything it can to make sure there is avenue to lay or fire. The pettiness when it comes to audits, we get instructions through teams, then are called to the floor when we follow what we are told by leadership. This is disgusting. We are trying to do our jobs and follow the protocols we are given by LEADERSHIP, then we are thrown to the wolves, by the same leadership.

LOL this place is a joke. They have been letting people go steadily since early 2022. Now they are just laying off a handful every couple of weeks it appears - they are offshoring most if not all of claims operations, IT, and admin support - so non-member/patient/provider-facing roles. Eventually, even the offshore people will be replaced with AI. AI is a death sentence for this company just as it is for most companies no matter the industry. People are what keep businesses going and making them money - people who lose their jobs do not have disposable income and can't put it back into the economy. Not sustainable and will cause a significant amount of them to go under. But it's whatever I guess. No job is safe or secure I don't care how important or "valued" you may think you are because you are not ....period ....the end ....and they will cut strings without giving you a second thought and its coming.

Normally I am made aware in advance. I have no knowledge of an upcoming mass layoff, but that may be because I’m on the list myself.

It would be something of a relief to leave and dump the sh*tshow I’m dealing with now on those that remain.

+1 for mental health.

Layoffs are going to happen Tuesday.

Although we were told on our team they didn’t foresee anymore layoffs in the future, I don’t believe that. I read that lay-offs would happen on 1/16, which they did, then 2/13, and they obviously did based on this thread, the next one was predicted to be on 3/13. I would keep my eye on that date, because if that happens, these layoffs have been in the making for months and our PL were fully aware of what was coming, which is some shady business. Stay strong guys because AI is definitely coming for our jobs.

With AI they will only need 13 people to run the company. AI will make the calls, AI will receive the calls, AI will process the calls, AI will follow-up, AI will upgrade itself, AI will make the denial decisions. AI will show sympathy on the layoff calls.

2-3k seems high. Just curious of who determines who gets laid off?

Laughing out Loud- DOGE is actually investigating wasted money and fraud schemes paid under government money. Our money we pay taxes. If you work for a shady company, then hey, its about time taxpayers stopped getting su-ked into democratic govt funding scamming off its people. Federal spending is keeping us broke. Which way you want it? Cry for centene or keep more of your paycheck?

Some of us, like me, check back here often just to bring a smile to our faces because we know some of the people suffering now have affected our working lives at that company and have forced people to divide. Its good for them to feel the insecurity and anguish daily.
You know they are because theyre nasty to their employees/team. They now can hopefully feel, just a bit, what unneccessary horrible treatment feels like. I hope they hang in until the vety end. Well deserved. The rest of you, get out and have a better life. Other companys are not like Centene. HR dept is a joke. Theres your qualifying gatekeeper who let all the unqualified strays in. Theyre contractors in HR, they could care less what talent they find. Pick one, any one!

Yes we all have ideas but isnt that a silly question? Why would you want to save anything for this company. They throw out people like trash. The leadership is the problem that needs fixing. Stop asking employees 'how can we get you to eat more sh@t?

What you’re running from here, you will run into somewhere else. Does anyone have any solutions to make this a better working environment?

Do not get discouraged hearing the negative stories about job openings. Look, if you possess the skills a company is looking for, and thr drive, the positive attitude and can show your talents, why would you even worry about finding a job. Sure, theres competition, but YOU have value. Have that attitude and apply your value elsewhere. Centene doesnt have to value you, youre already in the seat, they dont NEED YOU now. What does one do in this fact of everyones life? You move on where your skills ate needed. Stop this giving energy to negative thoughts. Save yourselves. Left Centene in 2023

The question always remains, at what point is Centene going to either close its doors, get a visit from federal, or be sold. The direction of this god for saken company has been in turmoil for years. Its time to stop je-king around the actual 'employees', who are delivering your 'mission' and 'goals'. Without these folks, your business would shut down. I believe a union would stomp on this behavior!!!

DOGE isn't actually investigating anything, they're only robbing the country and it's citizens blind to give it to billionaires.

Are there even 3k positions left, lol? They keep cutting and cutting and cutting.

by

Post ID: @ba+1jkxfd567

What would determine this?

by

Post ID: @b5+1jkxfd567

Who would get on here and confirm a layoff? Besides if the rumor is a fact, the names are already on a list. Nothing anyone can do but wait on it.
