Each time we lose some of the most knowledgeable people, so I have to wonder if the same thing happened again. It's a stupid strategy to save money by cutting your most valuable workers, but I guess that's what we get with completely incompetent leadership we're stuck with.

The are moving a lot of what they call “indirect” contributors to India. This last layoff took down the entire purchasing dept (mgr as well). They kept a couple buyers whose focus is NPI. They’ll be moving planning…then remainder of supply chain area next. They’ve been slowly gearing up personnel in India for about 6 months.
Not sure what the other commenter is going on about. We lost product managers, R&D folks, and support experts with 10+ years of experience. Illumina will continue to fuel competition by sending the best people right toward them.
