HPE vs DOJ trial update

HPE & DOJ have proposed a trial date of Jun 16 & Oct 27 resp. The latter conflicts with the merger termination date of Oct 9. The judge today declined to set the trial date and has asked both parties to work together to come up with a feasible trial timeline by Feb 21. A decision about the trial date will be made on Feb 28.

Until there is a final decision on the case (approve/block), both companies must refrain from carrying out any activities in support of the merger. This means no meetings, exchange of information, etc. Anything towards that effort may be in violation of the federal law.

As noted, the Judge will hear submissions from Counsel about when the trial date should be on Friday February 28th in the afternoon. So wont know anything for a couple of weeks.

You can dream, but that $800 million isn't going to the employees. If anything, it will go to the shareholders who will lose $$ if the deal fails. I could see some bonuses for C level type execs who stayed

$85K would very well cover my ESPP contributions!

@c8+1jm3y7685 RR is set to receive $50M when it closes so you better believe he is motivated to get this deal done

And the integration meetings with HPE still remain on the calendar after all this. No clarity, useless leadership. Their only goal seems to be lining their own pockets.

If $815 million were divided among all Juniper employees, each would receive approximately $85,000 as a bonus.

Thank you for sharing this. Factual & relevant information after a while. Run the clock and Juniper can pocket the $815M on Oct 10th. Use that money to give bonuses to whoever have stayed with the company till then.
