Thread regarding Bose layoffs

Is Bose doing poorly and layoffs are said to be coming?

I was contacted last week 10/19/22 by a Bose corporate recruiter for embedded software development. I was not told salary range but was told the process is 1 hour with the hiring manager and if that goes ok then its a 5 hour interview panel. Have not heard yet if the manger wants to speak with me. I don't want to hire into a company that is about to have layoffs as I was laid off from Ford 2 months ago. Any information from people currently working at Bose is appreciated thanks.

from the OP:
Thanks for the comments and feedback. They have not contacted me again but if it happens, I'll make an excuse about taking another offer and will not proceed based on the advice I read here. Thanks for the help.

Avoid. Sadly, it’s a sinking ship.

If you want to work with talented people desperately trying to catch up with what the competition was selling five years ago, but with fewer features and more bugs, Bose software development is the place to be!

Software development has not been a happy place at Bose. For decades, it's been an afterthought and considered a burden by management. Very talented people leave, in dismay, as they are prevented from developing high-quality software.

From somebody working at Bose, I wouldn't proceed... the products are lackluster, technology is far behind competitors, and the employee morale is grim. I had a colleague that was in software development, and he was laid off 4 months into the role after the health division shuttered.
