Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Does anyone know when they are going to announce the punishment for not coming into office? I heard unofficially they will pull raises and bonus

Are they going to announce this or planning to surprise people in feb with tc discussions?

Also heard this is a start to terminations.
Any more info anyone?

Agree funny how they demand U.S workers get back to the offices, yet as you said
Workers in foreign countries can still work from home if they want.

The old double standard

They want you to return to the office because they paid a lot of money for that brand new building in Boston.

This return to office push just shows how delusional this company is. They want us back to the office to physically work with who?! Most team members were replaced with workers in low cost locations (Poland, China, India, KC) and they are remotely working with us. All meetings are conducted virtually.

To Senior leaders:
If you truly believe working in the office is better than working remotely, bring all jobs back onshore where we can physically work together in the same office.

Was also on the call. There is a huge disconnect between what employees are saying vs what the top is saying. In Ron’s letter to employees for q3 he referenced how he has heard employees ask and want for more in office interaction and the connect week. I have not heard this sentiment from anyone personally, I overhear in the office how people do not agree with connect week nor see the benefit. I did also notice on the last employee survey we were asked two convenient questions 1 being ‘ what we look forward to this connect week.’

And they are tracking badge ins. Something is off and I would not be surprised at all if this is an argument in total comp conversations

The State Street NEXT call just ended a few moments ago. One of the leaders acknowledged that they have been getting a lot of questions on the utility of going into the office when most coworkers are physically in another location. For me, I have coworkers spread in different offices, region, and country.

I don’t want to misquote but the leader responded to that effect of: Well, we had one commenter that said it worked out really great for her so that’s a goal the company is working towards.

Anyone else listened to the call? Please correct me if you heard something completely different. It was so brief as if she didn’t want to honestly explain the real reasoning. I can understand why a few people would like to go in as they live a short distance to the office. However, not all of us have that luxury to take a brisk walk into the offices, or hire drivers, paying for daycare, etc.

I don’t think this is fake, it’s no secret how upper managers feel about cost cutting and working from the office.

100% made up. Either by yourself for attention or someone else who is not playing with a full deck

People are leaving. They will just walk out the door.
