Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

How safe are branch employees.

What does the future of the branch look like? So much talk about CRC5’s, Branch Leader Role and no more Management(S2S3) inside the branches. Are Branch Managers next on the chopping block?

Yes there will be a reduction in walk-in branches. It will be a matter of time until lobbyists can get Congress to pass the minimum requirements for branches serving per population. The older customers are passing away and the younger ones are digitally adequate to service themselves through the browser and mobile app.

Rumors of taking away the manager title have been going on for years.

If we consolidate branches into 24 hubs, the feds will go after us for CRA and fair banking concerns. So on its face, not happening.

Was told the branches would consolidate in to major hubs across the US. About 24 of them.

Fair amount of irony in the talk about U.S. Bank contracting and reducing branch staff while the competitors build branches across the street. Bank of America and Chase are making inroads and nobody is stopping them. Bank of America would make an ideal merger partner with U.S. Bank, but it would likely mean a total bloodbath for the U.S. Bankers.

I noticed when there is no one in line anymore. When you walk in everyone stands up and surprised including the security guy.

Good post. Most branches when visiting have non English speaking people or other types trying to get a car loan because the tend to be renters and no desire for home loans that are rare for those folks

You are toast. You already know it but want someone to tell you. No needs to walk into banks anymore. Live checks are the only reason. Drive thru bank stalls are closing and remaining managers and security guards park the cars there to get out of the sun so they can leave punctually in a cool early 2000s Nissan or Kia with no rims. My guess...
