Problems in APAC

All of the comments are about places outside of Asia Pacific. But the real problems are in Asia because there has been no strong leaderships for long time. The last CRO one left a gift departing with selecting the head of the region who has little experience with clients and does not know our industry. Because of that, other leaders do not care or show interest.

Employees know the head of Australia is unhappy and not engage as she did not get job. Other leaders are either junior or do the same like Japan and HK. I am in HK and no collaboration with anyone. All consultants and specialists are leaving. In HK they push out another DSO specialists out again. It's tough here with no interest from anyone.

The head of Research/FO sales in HK is a weaker leader making it difficult for her team to stay at company as all of them left. She talks negatively about sales and leaders but always behind backs. Never comes to office and very little see clients. She got the role not sure how as she has no manager and team skill. Others are upset with her too. Very negative all times.

At end of day, people are getting roles because of DEI trend, we should bring back the people who care about FactSet and are liked by others

Appreciation post for the women manager in singapore sales.

Thank you for your gossip, small minded behaviour and complete disregard for professionalism. In less than a year, it’s clear to everyone how shallow you are.

While one did us favour and left for competition, only hope is other clones will follow. Discussing others salaries, relationships, finding flaws in everything and then walking around like u care is like na--d king syndrome. People are polite to call on the bullsh-t but that doesn’t mean they are blind to it. It’s insecure and petty what you focus on.

Oi! There are less problems in APAC. We bear the brunt of having ELT and their minions in our regions, you have no ELT members based in APAC! That’s gotta count as a positive.

Want to know the biggest problem in APAC ex COE? It is the lack of HR/L&D/Product expertise which puts unnecessary pressure on the client facing teams.

HR comprises 2-3 people who are clueless about FactSet’s business. They only create chaos and gossip. Can they be trusted to be a fair or client or even FactSet centric?

L&D is non-existent, handled by COE that have little/no client engagement experience. Sure, they’re nice but they have zero understanding of workflows. That’s true for global L&D leadership who are ignorant about the product and the industry we work in.

Recruitment is a black hole, the expectation is that people who are unaware of markets like Japan, Korea, China, Australia hire in those markets, and seek help from COE in doing so. The “global director” in London is an incompetent, scheming person. Avoidable at all costs.

File an RPD and wait for months before getting any meaningful updates because you don’t stack high in priority or ASV. Ask for product assistance and get told they are facing limited resources.

Wait, it gets worse. The ELT expects high growth from this region while never really prioritising investment/ product / data that works for the regions. BBG/LSEG business in China vs FDS in China is a great example.

I joined a competitor and assure you, the idea that FactSet culture is unique and hard to find is rubbish. The competitor I work for not only pays me better, it also has better understanding of client needs in the region. FactSet had good leaders at one point, thanks to the ex- CRO and new HR head, it is now toxic with old, outdated leaders who cannot show up for their teams or lead from the front. The next time the so called leaders visit, give empty speeches without delivering/ doing anything meaningful, make peace with the fact that they are visiting to holiday in Asia and escape the east coast winter.
