Other major retailers are closed on Thanksgiving so their employees can enjoy the holiday with their families. But Hy-Vee, oh no we don't close. How about we compromise, Hy-Vee, let's lock up at noon and at least let us spend a little family time. Or is that almighty dollar just too damn important to you. Give customers advanced notice we are closing at NOON. If they can't plan it's not our fault.

I never worked for hyvee but they're saying they're closed on Thanksgiving for the first time in their history. I remember them being closed on Thanksgiving back in the 70s and 80's. At least they were in my town. Anyways good for you Hyvee. Glad to see you looking after your workers.
Our Hy-Vee is Closed for Thanksgiving so is Wal-Mart and Target but all the Kroger owed store are open until 3p here. Weve come full circle almost in our town. 40 yrs ago all places were closed on Thanksgiving then slowly more and more places wanted to be open. Now since about 2010 more places started to close.
To bad it took nearly all our competitors to close before hyvee FINALLY followed suit.ONCE AGAIN THEY ARE FOLLOWERS NOT LEADERS.PATHETIC COMPANY..DO NOT MAKE A CAREER WITH THIS COMPANY.

According to Whole Foods website some are closed Thanksgiving while others have "modified" hours, I.E. closing early. According to Cub website select stores closed on Thanksgiving while others close at 2pm. As far a Fresh Thyme, we'll WGAF about Fresh Thyme.

First, the “TONS” of places that are open on Thanksgiving are Walgreens and Gas stations. Second, good for you…you work retail. Like millions of other people around the world. What’s your point?
Walmart, Costco, Target closed on Thanksgiving. I'd call those three pretty big grocery retailers.
I work retail, and we're open on T'giving. Tons of places are. If anyone is open, it should be a grocery store.
