Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Anyone else leaving Friday?

I've never quit before. Been here a long time. Do I just contact HR? I don't want a million questions from my sup. Not old enough to retire. But ready to move on to something different.

Notify your manager and just be blunt about it. Your manager might ask some questions but they wont pry too much into it. HR wont have anything to do with your terminational until your manager enters in your final day into the system and thats when they start work of removing you from the various HCSC systems. Now how you want to handle the day you tell your manager you're leaving to the day you actually leave is how you feel about your coworkers or HCSC.

Also make sure your final pays are accurate cause if there's issues with your pay, Payroll will come after you.

You don't have to give 2 weeks' notice, but it's nice to give some notice.

Have you made sure to CYA as much as possible, before you dip out? Get all internal contact info. and docs. of your own you'll need for future reference, such as: paystubs, notes of recognition/emails citing your good work, insurance/HR info. etc.

Make appts. ASAP w/ doctors etc. to be calendared within the next 2 weeks before your insurance gets nixed at the end of this month.

If you plan on dipping this Friday, then send your email of resignation today. That gives HR enough time to get things together before you leave, so if there are any loose ends with them, you can get it taken care of while you still have access to company systems. Be sure to get 2 individual contacts within HR w/ their emails and phone #s today. Call one of them today an hour or 2 after you send your email resignation, to confirm that they've received it.

Send the email of your resignation today (with a read receipt) and address it to HR w/ cc-ing your manager. You are at this point communicating primarily w/ HR, and simply notifying your manager as a courtesy. You're under no obligation to speak w/ your manager in detail about why you're leaving, if/with what company you've gotten an offer, etc. If they ask you about any of that, it's totally OK to respond with something such as, "I prefer to not discuss that." You don't owe them anything other than a professional last few days of work, and a respectful goodbye! Just be very matter of fact with them, courteous but reserved. Protect your privacy and dignity. You're on your way out at the end of this week, and it's on them to figure out how your soon-to-be-former work duties will be redistributed from now on.

Friday the 14th is a protest day to NOT go into work NOT about quitting.

Make sure you use up your 5 diversity (or whatever they are called) days as you won't get paid for them when you leave. PTO will get paid out to you. Do a simple resignation letter - 2 weeks notice is the best professional route. I also suggest you take time off before starting a new job. Best of Luck
