Why are we posting job openings but then told not to hire. 🤔

Where I work, they won't let us hire to replace employees that have left. The workforce has been cut a lot.
At my store the turnover is so high, they need to hire frequently. New hires usually leave on their break and don’t come back or just stop coming to work after a few days. When they are hired, they are told untruths about what their job responsibilities will be. So if and when they actually start working it’s all different from what they were told during interviews. That’s why we can’t keep good talent.
Bull 💩
Typically companies do that to test the waters, find out how many are looking for jobs, and to pull resumes for the futre. Common practice for many companies, has been for years.
