I really feel bad about all the layoffs that occurred. I have been working in the claims department for Kemper (the Chatsworth, California office) for about a year now and thankfully I was not laid off. I really feel bad for everyone that was affected by this.
Does anyone know if anybody from California including the from Chatsworth, California office was laid off? Does anyone know if there's more layoffs to come?
The severance offer is 1 week pay for every full year worked. Pretty lame since there was NO advance given We live in NC unemployment max is $350 week. Nobody can survive in that. This situation has put our family in a very difficult position.
The official termination date is Nov. According to the HR Rep I spoke to, they will be offering a severance package and we should be getting that info via FedEx today or tomorrow.

lol. Severance is 0.0. Nobody was made aware this was coming. They better get ready for some serious legal issues. WARN ACT is in full effect. Personally I hope this mismanaged sh-t company gets buried.
