Funny to see the same commentor in multiple threads talking about remote workers. Keep on dreaming buddy... layoffs and who is chosen have nothing to do with RTO or Remote status. I sense some jealousy

So what about remote people due to NO HUB within a 50 mile radius?

Technology is a mess. Millions can be saved by getting rid of the middle management mess. All are useless. They were useless low level dopes who kissed azzz to move up the ladder. Being a brown nosed yes person is the only qualification. They are official meeting goers who have neved added anything of value to any meeting they've ever attended. Take the useless scrum masters with you too.

"Too many people not enough work" is the opposite of what I'm seeing, tbh. There's so much work, the long timers don't want to do anything but what they've been doing for the last 10 years, so it falls on very few people to actually get the work done that needs to be done.

I'm against layoffs, but if they are serious about making cuts in technology, they should start with the CIOs, their immediate reportees, and all the Engineering Directors and Managers. At least 60% of them add no real value, lack common sense and technical skills—they’re just yes-men to their supervisors. If they had to reapply for their jobs, I guarantee not a single one would even get an interview.
Just look at the recurring issues we deal with. Every day, 50+ people sit on P2 calls, yet only two or three actually do the work. The rest are just there to make their presence known. These calls are incredibly frustrating, filled with endless questions that only delay resolution.
And then there’s the Architecture team—just look at the mess they've created. They are a complete joke and should be the first to go.

I was about to write something similar. Anyone else with little to do after all the re-org, and waiting for next re-org once Gunjan is in place? It’s like management is scared to do anything right now other than manage up, so their employees have zero direction. I’m not sure how we are supposed to reach these aggressive goals when we can’t spend any money?! Nevermind our internal processes are totally broken.

Most companies have laid off their remote workers. Wonder if those will be the first to be cut.
