Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Layoffs on 3/18/25

I’m not sure how many employees total were affected, but I was laid off today in Pete Carrera’s org (Enterprise Infrastructure) and know of a few others. Please comment if you or others were impacted.

Let go 3/19- Business Banking. Very concerning that this is happening across the company. Witnessed outsourcing to Indian contractors. It was alarming because it duplicated existing roles within the organization. Now we’re seeing the outcome. Good luck to everyone impacted. Never saw or understood the vision or direction of the bank as an organization & I’m not convinced leadership has one. Follow the leader aka Chase seems to be the plan. Employees are confused & largely in the dark about overall vision/direction due to poor leadership. Best wishes to all in finding a better company.

The data centers have been unaffected. Yes, some things have gone to the cloud. But there has also been increased amounts of on prem applications, etc.

My husband was laid off from elavon. We moved across the country for this position. We were promised he would have a position with the company even when the Data center went digital. Then out of the blue he was cut. His boss didn't even have the decency to call and tell my husband himself, made another manager do it.

Responding to “Post ID: @ft+1jpn4k6xy
Worked in security monitoring, reviewing alerts and such.
Yeah they’d be opening up areas in Poland doing our jobs, every time we’d joke about “gee hope you’re not going just outsource all our jobs” we’d always get laughs and chuckles.

Sounds like this across the entire company

They have quietly been installing contractors in India and the Philippines covering nearly every department. It’s no mystery that the locations are in the same towns as a McKinsey office. Shady sh*t happening.

Wow I’m so sorry to hear that. Are you willing to share what department?

Phoenix here. My entire department was let go and my supervisor said it was “across the bored” she had no warning about this what so ever by the way.

The axe swung far, deep and wide. This was not a n-p or trim. The bare meat is exposed, nothing left to snip. Huge continnual cuts like this are the first sign of a failing company and poor leadership. Last two years takes longer and harder to get things done, less efficient, low moral, and loss of long term experts are slowing things down over-all. This only amplifies these existing issues.

Sorry to hear, OP. Hopefully, you land on your feet soon. I guess we can probably expect more layoffs next month when GK takes over.

That is awful. Hope you land a better job. Was it the whole team or select few to trim down. You will make it keep your head up!

Did any of you who were laid off get bombarded with emails and meetings about updating your talent profile and career development plan just prior to layoffs?

Good luck to you. I was part of lay offs last March after having been with the company for almost 30 years and I still have not found a job. I have submitted hundreds of apps with only a hand full of interviews.
