How to quiet quit? 401k vest coming up and very checked out; this place is garbage

I am checked out, manager is checked out and unsure what I am even doing on a day to day basis.

Been here for 2 years and really have not grown much if I am being honest; leadership and business is half asleep, there is no growth or direction. They can't even afford to pay for certifications or push their employees for further education.

How do I milk the paychecks as long as I can? I want to do the bare minimum to be under the radar and then just keep this going until my vest comes up?

Is it even worth waiting for the vest?

People like you have never experienced jealousy where it extends just “leaving”. People that are jealous they go a bit further. There is no amicable departure. There is sabotage, deception, and coercion to stay quiet.

You sound like you haven’t experienced a situation where you can just happily walk away. People that envy and cannot control you such as those at ford aim to destroy you and they aren’t going to let you go out that door without paying a price. You never been blackmailed. You’ve never been discredited. I can tell. Because your response is one dimensional and naive. Up your skills so you can relate to know what it is like being around people that want something from you

WTF is all this square and circle talk? Seems like someone has a case of the Sunday scares. As was stated before, hard work gets you no where at Ford. Its a good job to have for 1-3 years and then bounce (5 if you're into taking higher risks with your career time) Make a good salary and bonus? How much is it costing you in sanity, time away from family, and overall mental health? Maybe you don't actually know, and that is the dangerous part. Leave toxic people and situations behind. Some people on here act like Ford is their only option for employment, and that is the real tragedy here.

Old boomer, don't you know the world doesn't work this way any more? What block of ice did the cut you out of? Wake up, it's not the 40-s or 50's anymore. What a dinosaur....companies exploit people with this mindset and its a shame. Today, it's called "starting your own thing". You'll need to learn these new concepts to survive in the "new-fangled" world. Otherwise, good luck being taken advantage of because you were ignorant.

@OP. Look, it is easy. At FMC, you'll get nowhere by hard work. If you want promotions, you need to be in the FnF club. So if you don't want to be an FnF, and want to develop your skills, you have to options:

  • Find another company...
  • Do the work here w/o hopes of promotion, and learn by self study... afterall, you should have plenty of free time...

If you are young, as it seems, I'd go with the first option.

It’s like some of these ppl are getting paid more than u and have no where to go so they lump them with the person who outputs the most work so they can share credit they didn’t deserve bruh.

It’s not just picking up slack from lcc employees.

Two times I had two small teams that sat in call learning from me while I shared screen doing work. This was after they fired all the contractors. Before that I had dealt with the some toxic work stuff that’s not the theme of this point, but then the credit taking just went overboard on the first team. I had a cycle of three teams while being in the same single team. It was weird

First team resided in states and second was a mix of US and CA.

these companies have become 'vehicles' to move money upwards to the upper executives and majority shareholders who can both leave in a heartbeat with their ill-gotten gains
