Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

May 13th Layoffs Confirmed

Several leaked emails and early confirmations of manager notifications going out Monday the 12th with employee notifications beginning the 13th of May. Estimated 5% reduction immediately and another 5% at end of FY. These layoffs are going to be driven by management flattening and higher IC to Manager numbers. Also massive reductions of redundancy caused by the flattening of MCAPS. Satya is following Amazons recent business models and changes and the new definition of “100” is not just doing your job great it’s over achieving and if you are not getting 100’s you are fired.

The 3% figure suggests Microsoft will cut the staff in several "waves", maybe 3, totalling 10%. Facebook did 11kx3 a few years ago.

It takes more than a week like someone could get an email Friday? So people aren't safe until next week even if you didn't get an email this morning?

To the comment “This is all speculation. Rumor mill” I will say let’s both return to this thread next week and admit who ended up being wrong or right. Its only Rumor mill if it’s not proven, and like I said there are already large M1 meetings scheduled for the 12th.

This kind of sh-t is why I've left other companies. If you need to have above average performance to be considered normal, you better be fu--ing paying my a-s above average, and with their 5 year vesting sh-t, they sure aren't.
