I don't understand @nk post. @m4 didn't really say anything terrible. (And certainly nothing that warranted such a long reply.) I suspect your reply was to @ma? But even that wasn't a a terrible reply. (I assume @ma is male.) He might or might not be as bright as he claims. But he sounds nothing like an HR troll. He certainly has a lot of self confidence. Let's assume he is half as bright as he suggests he is. It's still well within the realm of possibility that he then gets regularly steamrolled by the sort of career people he describes. It's deeply regrettable, imo, that Canada somehow was made central to the original complaint. Those high rising careerists are in every geo. For that matter, there is more than 1 DE out there who rose to those heights the same was as @ma described. There is a pathology in IBM that gives rise to a lot of less than competent people with great corporate skills rising to levels of incompetence where they do great damage to the people that work for a living.

@m4

You sound just like one of those arrogant Indian IBM HR A-hole trolls who everyone loves to spew hate off the charts like a volcano. Please continue to write the wonderful notes praising yourself, IBM Indian failures and Alvind while giving us all a good laugh. Of course you can't do better can you, IBM Indian HR A-holes ? We all know Alvind and Krabanaugh can't pay you enough for your intellectually and mentally deficient postings. But at least write us some good jokes here for entertainment - at the IBM P1mpmunks expense of course. Until then, we continue to treat you dismissively and disrespectfully. No wonder the Partners and APs won't have anything to do with you. Did you try the DE's also ? They are a laugh, with the huge titles and nothing much behind it. Particularly the Indian ones.

@k8 I'm talking about Partners and APs in consulting. I'm band 9 and they assume that because their level in the company is higher, that they are in a position to treat me dismissively or disrespectfully. Meanwhile I have an IQ of 138 and an engineering degree, and can easily see these are the profoundly mediocre intellects who mostly came up through some lame lame general arts or business program. ...and the main reason they have risen further in their career is because they have the kind of ki----s personality that IBM rewards, whereas I represent myself and no one else, regardless of who likes it and who does not, and for me that has not led to stellar career progress.
Long story short: I'm one of the best at what I do - no exaggeration - that is based on a long track record, but despite that, will not be long for this role or this company because I have just ran out of patience even if I'm not shy about setting them straight when I need to, which I find myself doing semi-regularly unfortunately.

Layoffs are usually in June, if they have any planned

@an+1jtrr4bwc you can find really good people everywhere. Also, you can find a few bad people everywhere. Despite what you may have heard, Canadians are not all that different from the people in whatever country you found yourself in when you had these bad experiences. Were these deadbeats technical people? Designers? Sales? Managers? Asking for a friend.

Couple of months ago manager promised big layoffs in Canada. Was keen to see them as I work with more incompetent arrogant fools than anything else. Big disappointment - I'm aware of only two having left and one of them might have been a retirement.
The train of broken promises never ends.

That was supposed to be MINUS 3295 coming up. Unintended use of markup.
