People are afraid to talk. There are 1,000s of people affected, I can talk only about India but I am hearing it's affecting other geographies including the US.
It's affecting both consulting and other areas as well.
Clients have been tightening their spend for a while now and this is hitting us big time. I am hoping things will change soon.
You have to watch out for either some MD you dont work with often because your boss is too chicken to face you or HR or your boss giving you an unexpected TEAMS Ping in the afternoon. Now is the time to make sure you have used all of your PTO over the carryover allowed otherwise they will not give it to you as a part of the 1 Month to look for a job. And if you find a new job, the CFO will get in front of it and shut you down no matter what the hiring manager says. This happend to about 20 of us last year. They are intent to cash in as many heads as it takes to prop up Boomer Sr Leaders Pay/Sustain Their Stock Prices before the downturn. Makes zero difference how you performed yesterday.
Gotta love HR and Marketing launching a counter campaign against their beloved. Only a matter of time and they'll come for u too.

Everything is quiet in the US. No layoffs happening over here.

HR people are looking at Meta and finding that PIP is the best tool to push people out. And avoid paying severance.
Its true I am at CL 7 and got 0% hike and 0% bonus and put on PIP. Strange thing is that last year I was top performer with 20% hike. All written feedback is good even though I have been put on Pip. Please suggest me next actions.

As a soon to be former maager at AFS I can confirm that a big round of layoffs is in the works. CL6s and 7s are being told to identify headcount for reduction.
Layoffs started for us weeks ago. No mention of it, just keep seeing people I work with on LinkedIn suddenly looks for jobs.

They have been slowly laying off people since July. People are quiet and noone saying anything.
Nothing here in the US. No layoffs. There are fake news spreading that India is laying off folks with 'fake' credentials and that this will affect a lot of people. However, this has not been confirmed and it happens every day but on a much smaller scale.
