Thread regarding Workday Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are happening right now but people are afraid to speak.

Also, the criteria for layoffs is murky. Good luck all

Just got the news that more than 25 people have already been fired in the US with more to follow. Some will be fired in Europe too. Things are not looking good.
They have called everyone that was WFH back to the office. People that are complaining about having to go back are the first being let go.

At workday, these days to get hired the most important skill is ability to ki$$ a$$ of x boss from oracle who is now at workday. To survive, you need to continue demonstrating that skill.

Sad thing is if u are in this place for a few years , it’s very hard to find another job . Workday tech stack is proprietary and NO one in the world uses that. Basically longer u stay in this place you are doomed .

Workday is now full of Oracle good for nothing folks. These people stayed at Oracle for as long as possible and now running from there straight to workday. I don't want to name the names but see which VPs and above have joined in last 2 years. Workday used to be great but now it's Oracle and Oracle is known for layoffs :)

I work there. I heard about the layoffs (ie people are talking about it) and have also asked for more info (I'm not alone, people are not afraid to ask). Layoffs are happening in top-heavy, over-populated parts of the org. Hushed tones just indicate an intent not to panic needlessly from what I can see. People are worried based on the climate in tech, who in tech isn't nervous?

Why are people afraid to speak? Workday advertises it’s a very warm welcoming workplace
