Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

The priority is to leave

It is not surprising that many more people are dedicated to looking for a new job, rather than actually investing effort in their job here.
Honestly, how much effort do you put in to get the work done? I'd assume that most of us do only the bare minimum.

Do you blame them? The new Apa is NOT premier.

Some employees invest all their effort into their roles and management overlooks them year over year after stellar reviews for a leadership role when potential is there. Why should we keep investing our effort now if it’s clear they’ve stopped investing in us?

It’s clear that being a brown-nosing worker bee gets you somewhere, but being tried and true with integrity does not. That’s why people are looking elsewhere.

Companies like Shell and others have the option to work from home anytime. With the HOU water situation and schools closed, it’s mandatory to show up. Cannot spend $$ in extra Holiday celebrations cause there is a Christmas party. But executives and managers can have business meetings in WY & swanky resorts + flying private planes. It sends just the right message.

But if you are of a certain group, you actively attend your diversity/inclusion networking event. Why else would you have been hired or promoted?
