Look — they didn't have separation/severance letters prepared, HR didn't follow up with those terminated until the week after, the separations still aren't entered into the system so there's no information about how/whether PTO will be in the final checks or separate payments (meaning there's no way to plan additional pretax deductions in the last check), and some of the people who did the actual "letting go" were a bit blindsided by it. Since then, more of the same business-speak from CC, who clumsily reads all of his remarks from a screen and unsuccessfully attempts to add emotion. Just very poorly executed all around. And still — those let go probably got a better deal than the rest of us will.
