3D metals is now back at Corvallis. The person that I spoke to (a long term CW) that got axed in November was lied to. The 3D team they were on, laid off several CW's and how has hired back more. Looks like they were just picking and choosing who they wanted. The regular HP employee number count on that team shrunk in November and has now grown back again.

What does a transition plan look like?

Sorry to hear. Hope you can find a position with a better company soon.

HP is a ruthless company and cares ZILCH about its employees. Long, long gone is the "HP family" approach taken by founders Bill and Dave. Carly Fiorina and other CEOs since, including Lores, have literally driven HP into the ground.

To anyone still hanging on at HP hoping to keep their job -- Be assured that HP is a place where careers come to die. Get your resumes updates and start looking for a new job outside of HP now.

Corvallis laid off most of the 3D metals team last month. This is because it is transitioning to production now and no longer an R&D project. Corvallis does very little production on site. Lots of testing, R&D and the fabs are for prototype wafers.
