totally..disgusting. Think about how that money could have been spent in raising salaries and rewarding the folks who pay the salaries of these cronies. Who buys the paper edition a newspaper these days by the way...
I've been saying this for well over 30 years! GE will always waste dollars to save pennies. It has never changed from that process and never will until it finally completely collapses. They keep doing this because those at the top are stuffing their pockets as much as they can and plan on leaving before the downfall.
you'd be blown away by how much they spent to figure out the new business names and how much is being pi---d away on splitting up the businesses. consulting firms are making a fortune doing nothing
A one day paper ad? The only ones excited about it are the Marcom folks. The outside world couldn’t care less. All it showed is they are good at wasting money.
It’s deja vu’ all over again.

LMAO. The New York Times responded to the seven figure advertising windfall one day later by trolling GE with a new article promoting the exposes about the downfall and describing the culture of arrogance and stupidity.

It must have done a lot of good, look at the stock price 😂😂😂, which corporate genius proposed this BS??
GE is a dinosaur....point proven. NYT has a daily circulation of 343,000....
WTF... Millions of dollars for one day of ads in an archaic paper newspaper? Did Two Jets Jeff rejoin us as a marketing consultant or something?
Advertising for a company that now makes ZERO consumer goods. Can't they find a better avenue for their marketing dollars? Trade shows, conferences, congressional lobbying, bribes to officials???
Bring back the Dancing Elephant!
When a printed story sounds so good it attracts gamblers with cash who throw their money down. If not, just plain advertisement for company.
My guess is that somebody has a bucket of pre-splt money to spend and a girlfriend at the NY Times who can send him a healthy kickback.
There’s a lot of hesitancy in the investment scene right now towards GE, in my opinion, because Trian Fund Management lost their shirt and so did many long term holders of the stock. Culpable has to put a new spin on The Big Split to lure in the big money.
what ever happened to that woman who was the chief marketing officer, one of Immelts cronies who wrote a book and was from NBC? Another joker who walked away with $100M+ in salary and benefits....
GE is the worst at creating any buzz or hype organically. Every campaign like this falls on its face again and again. Too much, too late.
Break the wrist and walk away.
