Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

The company is a habitual liar. When Windstream acquired a company I worked for, They said that they would be on-shoring the support department because they don't offshore. They never did (and in fact enhanced it, Eventually laying off departments to replace them with offshore). One day they stopped getting cakes for employees birthdays (Telling people they polled employees who said they didn't like cake, NOONE was polled) When they declared bankruptcy, They told the news that No one in my city would lose their job. The NEXT DAY they laid off half the department in my office (saying they were not real employees because it was through a contract agency) then a month later laid off much of another department. (Saying it didn't count because it wasn't related to the bankruptcy) A few months ago our service department was going great after years of mismanagement from upper management finally putting a system that worked in place and hiring enough people, then they laid off a bunch of staff and overworked the rest, and changed the teams around and brought in management that didn't know what they were doing. Now they are laying off everyone who is left. I feel sorry for Windstream customers whose services are going to break, and no one left is going to know how to fix them, especially for legacy services. Layoffs are not even by Ability/ training/ productivity, managers/ directors/ etc have no say in who is cut, its determined by financials, so layoffs overwhelmingly affect those with the most experience and ability crippling the departments they affect for a long time afterwards. The so called leadership of this company is driving it into the ground, driving away customers and sending it into a death spiral.
