I heard there are some layoffs happening in the North America offices, maybe other locations too. Verification and Implementation AEs are impacted. Not sure if any R&D impacted as well.

Have they informed all 102 employees being layoff?
Synopsys permanently layoff 102 employees in the bay area on Mar 31,2023

1 week per year of tenure is cr-p. Sh-t company. Do not join. Very poor compensation and severance package
Apparently the severance package was epic. One week pay per year of tenure-ship, also some people cashed parts of their unvested RSUs and additional goodbye bonus to leave peacefully. Pretty sweet deal if you’re technically savvy and land a job quick.
It seems it was a week of layoffs and people resigning. There are still some dead weight big wigs dodged the grim ripper this time around as well. Maybe next time.
It is circa 3% for the business unit i work for. But it is happening.
Will there be second or third layoff this year?
Whats the severance package/timeline for the folks who were laid off in Mountain View?
Hopefully they got rid of some of the top level management who are mostly clueless and don’t know how to even manage or motivate the people who are doing the actual work.
Layoffs are done. Target was in the single digits percentage, but actual percentage is less than the target. In terms of number, it’s less than 500. layoffs were worldwide, not just North America.
Does anyone know the total number of layoff this time?
How many AEs in verification? Location?
That's true. Layoffs started.
Layoff is definitely happening at Synopsys this week.
Some R&D engineers are affected.
This coming Friday is going to be the last day for them.
