Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Draft Calculations for Layoff

# Cloud division: Total cost 283 (C&L) => Expecting cost around 120. Payrange 250-800
The severance pay is less here as lots of new joiners. So easy to mass layoff and reduce cost. But expecting some top directors/managers to be thrown out.
Headcounts expected : 800-1000

# On-premise => Cost around $165M - paycheck is 100-500K(max)
Lots of experienced. So High severance pay. Going to be a mix of new joiners and experienced. Lots of operations moved to Offshore expect few H1B's. Expect few Directors and CMTS, more PMTS to be thrown out. Non-revenue Projects to be closed. Beware if project has more offshore resources and controls.
Expected count: 1300

# Hardware - expected 33-50 headcounts
# Others - expected 500-800
Overall headcounts expected to be around 3000-4500
Not in 10,000's.

Oracle is safe tech company during this recession. Expecting low number of layoffs compared to other tech giants

Assuming that is true, that doesn't mean a whole lot when you are one of those who gets cut...
HOWEVER.... Considering how they gut entire departments that fall out of favor, I would put that assertion into dispute.

It speculated based on other companies that part of mgmt reorg is cut mid mgmt salaries and internal accounting control procedures will be reviewed monthly.

Oracle is safe tech company during this recession. Expecting low number of layoffs compared to other tech giants. Oracle has hired low in its on-premise with low salary. Cloud division might have huge numbers. But total headcount is always maintained between 130-150.
I am also expecting a smaller layoff to follow in next Qtr (June/July). These are draft calculations. Expecting cloud numbers to increase. New joiners in past 2 years beware.
