More Changes Afoot.. Mgmt Positions Eliminated.. Who's Next?

This comes from the Southern Region:

Last year, one of our major furniture manufacturers closed up shop overnight, leaving the store with no shipments of, that's right-- Broyhill! The store's baby!

It has been claimed that a new supplier has been sourced. We're waiting!

So, then we have the shortening of the receipt printouts to save up to thousands of $$'s per year (wow).

We can also allow people to pay their CC debts in-store, now, b/c we "care" (and the store wants to make it easy to get more money quickly!).

Then, lower-tier management positions get the choice of reduced pay and hours or a severance package and "See 'ya!".

Hints of eliminating "overtime" across the board for anyone not in a higher-up, corporate position.

Sundays operating hours will soon be 10-7.

Go, Uncle Brucie! Help us "Live" as "Big" as your belly!

Anyone read the whole “severance” agreement? They KNOW they’re being shady and not giving the proper time to consider and review.. let alone engage counsel!! My favorite part was that AFTER they cut our positions and demoted us taking hourly pay and overtime… expecting the same duties…they offered ATLM positions a 40 hr week +2.00 more hourly OR keep their 45 hrs.

The mighty are gonna fall hard eventually

They made it sound like I HAD to have it done by yesterday (Monday January 30th) but how am I supposed to find an attorney to look this over in such a short amount of time?? They hit me out of nowhere with this last Thursday and I have worked EVERY day except for Sunday since then. I don't know about you guys but they certainly don't pay me enough to have legal counsel just standing by on retainer waiting for me at my leisure. I also don't know of any that work on Sundays??? This is ridiculous!

Don't be in a hurry to sign anything

Oh. and limiting employee discounts and disallowing "stacking" of coupons for employees, too. Can't have "Lots of Savings" eating in to the profits. Big Brother Brucie IS watching, people!
