Has anyone heard if there will be layoffs coming? Usually this time of year is when the rumblings start.

If you are a current Bose employee and not ACTIVELY looking at external roles, you’re a mo--n. Point blank. You don’t a trophy for being the last man standing when the ship goes down.
Transom (Firtel) likes to buy companies in trouble, gut them, downsize them, and wring as much capital out of them as possible. Goodbye Pro. After decades of being considered a bad joke in the Pro Audio world, Bose finally gained some respect in the industry. That's all being flushed down the transom-hole.
Yep, trophy wall ready and it will be all about the numbers, and short term, no doubt https://transomcap.com/portfolio/
As has already been shown with the preemptive firings, many of whom had hung in, and strung along, over the past year to keep the wheels on Pro as this was being figured out
One heck of a cultural and behavioral foundation is being laid going into April 1
Bose Professional laid off employees as of March 1st, 2023, the week that everyone was promised new offers. Empty promises of switching over to a new private equity company; Transom purchased Bose Pro and NEWCO will be the company controlling Bose Pro on April 1. They wanted to keep it a secret and not in the public eye so the company transition before anyone else knows. lol. So customers don’t freak out and walk away. Also employees that were laid off had to sign a separation agreement for keeping it “confidential” for blood money after their separation date. What a joke.
There were certainly layoffs over the past few weeks. The CEO even made a huge video about it “reorging” aka cutting positions. A few people I know personally were laid off. I’d avoid Bose like the plague.
Take the job, consider it a temp job, and continue to look aggressively for a permanent job.
Was just offered a job at Bose. Accept or run away? What’s the business prospect like or morale?
Also the start of the new fools' year.
4/1 is the start of new fiscal year
Indeed, annual layoff time has arrived, again. 8* or 9 years running now, wow. Bose colleagues appearing on LinkedIn "Open to work". Others letting their networks know ahead of going public. Appears also some more have been encouraged to retire.
Word is that the PRO sell-off, which has been in play for almost a year(!), is going final 4/1. Some PRO colleagues were blindsided by getting fired recently, ahead of finalization. Does else anyone find that date apropos?
- E.g., Bose Ireland and Columbia NC shut down in 2015.
So what's the scoop on the 2023 layoffs? It's not in the news yet, and Bose alumni are curious. I heard the PSD was closed down ... I thought it was sold off.
How many got the axe, and what divisions?
I won't even ask what lame excuses were given.
No layoffs coming since they started hiring based on physiology. Solves all problems!
