Anyone mid internal hiring process and notified that the req has been put on hold? I had an interview scheduled for early January but now it is cancelled. Is this just to see if the position will be eliminated?

Happened to me too! Five rounds were of interviews and it was on VPs desk to approve offer then got pulled- supposedly until first quarter 2026.

You don't want the roll even if it unfreezes. Almost all areas are being hit with cuts so you could get hired just to be cut in a few months. Many US workers are being let go and most new jobs are in India and the Phillippines.
I was offered the position pending final approval, but before the leader could sign off, the requisition was unexpectedly closed. This ultimately worked out for the best, as the department faced layoffs shortly after. I have since secured a new opportunity outside of the company
People should read the new audit news. Based on the information given to Helmsley he gonna have a lot of report and he expects to have a lot of changes with a deadline of March 2026. So you should expect lots of changes and possibly lots of layoffs .

Any behavioral health jobs put on hold, horrible area to work under with unorganized non clinical leadership
optum is part of united health care and they're defintely on a hiring freeze. and had mass layoffs to boot. they're not hiring
