Would be mortified if my employment lawyer was posting on this forum. Lmao
EXACTLY. They should be legally limited on back filling roles. Yet I know two people who were impacted in December. Over the Age of 55. And their 30 something manager is posting job openings like crazy on linked in
Well, well, well. I am an attorney representing an Adobe worker impacted. Guess what? Their 30-something manager called them on the day in early Dec (the same day the news broke of the layoff) for an unexpected call. The manager forgot the employee mentioned they were exercising their "take it when you want it" vacation and en route to the airport with their family. The manager was a little befuddled, yet let the employee end the call and get to the airport.
Then on Dec 15th, upon return from a brief vacation, the employee was contacted by the manager and told that they were "not a good fit for the team".
No performance improvement plan.
Not part of the well publicized layoff.
Just told a 57 yr ol they were not a good fit for the team.
Yes. It's obvious. Adobe didn't want to include this particular employee in the official layoff as their age would stand out, so they allowed a manager to simply declare that an employee wasn't a "good fit" for them. Absolutely ridiculous.
ADobe?
Yes.
I understand Avaya is also going through some hard times. I think their layoff was in the 1000s.
Happy it's not a high # at Adobe. Surprised they can locate other roles for folks of it is just 100.
Is this possibly just ",spun" as a layoff to manage expenses, but in truth it is the natural cleanse where sales managers rotate out those they'd not prefer on the team?
Wouldn't that legally limit Adobe from backfilling for those roles?
Just doesn't sound like it's necessary to go for that #...
