April is the typical bose cycle; following the numbers since current leadership(2019) has been in place it has been a solid 1000 employees rifted every Q2 (or sometimes split Q2 and Q3). Probably to avoid WARN act.

Warning signs; if they start moving "longer term connected" employees away from your group or halt any work with process blocking. Pay close attention to leadership chain changes.

If you have been there for less then 3 years; update resume, contacts and linkedin. Move to a less toxic company is better in long run.

Fret not. I was let go in the February 2022 lay off. I am now 8 months in to a new role and industry and couldnt be happier. There is life outside of Bose. While I wish my time there could have been longer (only 2.5 years)… it was ultimately a winning situation. Get your resume updated and LinkedIn up and running as a precaution. Best of luck to all.

The better question is, “How many engineers have left Bose in the last year.”
