There is another pending legal challenge to Rivian’s plans to manufacture electric trucks and SUVs on a two thousand acre site along the Morgan-Walton county line. The latest lawsuit alleges the state ignored zoning codes in signing off on the massive project.
Rivian, meantime, is looking to cut costs, announcing plans to lay off six percent of its workforce. The company says the pending job cuts will not impact the plans to eventually employ upwards of 75 hundred workers at its site in Rutledge.
