Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Layoff first week of February?

Seeing some folks on LinkedIn who are saying they were let go the first week in February. Haven't seen anything here or heard anything internal. Anybody have details?

Well to be fair, that manager prob shouldn’t have been hired. Especially making ~15-25k higher than other managers - with no exp at that. Yes the whole retail structure thing is a joke. Plus there’s not much new business, just sales getting shifted from channel to channel.

It's starting again. One Retail Manager eliminated and I am sure stores will follow. Their rolling retail experiment is a joke. All of the Management team for the northeast is in Georgia. That makes perfect sense.

What groups are/were targeted for layoffs (CLEC & ILEC)?

I can't see WIN competing with YouTube tv or similar services.
Same goes for hosting or cloud services

Kinetic TV was cut off last April, 2022.

Possibly. I hear that Kinetic TV is being discontinued in April, so maybe they are shedding headcount that will not be needed because of that? Not sure.

The tech industry (including telecom companies) are cutting headcount. The inflation coupled with the recession is one of the factors for reducing headcount across the tech industry.

I am curious to know what group(s) will be impacted as well.
