Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

People are too fatalistic

Yes, there will be layoffs like there were layoffs before but that doesn't mean that Dish is about to go the way of the dodo. I'm not saying things are perfect, far from it. Some changes are needed, that's for sure, but the situation is not nearly as bleak as some are trying to paint it. I think some people are simply bored and are fearmongering for no good reason.

Where do you think the future of linear lies when right now there are literally thousands of YouTubers with larger audiences in the target 18-34 advertising demo than anyone on television?

From a non Dish employee perspective, it seems like there is no concern about being a total non factor in wireless. Yet that will be the primary business for Dish. I am not sold on their plan, they seem to be wildly underestimating how expensive having a network is. Unless they are just going to be a large MVNO that has the lowesr prices of anyonee, it is hard to see how they are going to make this work. Even that plan would be hard tk pull off. Where is the urgency to get customers? They should be at code red battle stations. The strategy isn't adding up.
