ChatGPT is gonna kick a lot of employees in their guts by end of this year.

Yes it is
In fact, I already know that it's bad at understanding code at a large scale. I asked it questions about an open source project and it just hallucinated in the existence of functions that weren't there. Gpt-4 by the way. Someone's going to have to clean up after that sort of thing.
That's just silly. Regardless of how powerful chatGPT becomes, it's not going to be allowed to view our proprietary code any time this year.
But it's not even that powerful anyway. Everyone's amazed that it can write 20 line scripts with one or two constraints. Give it 4 different constraints and it can't perform. Need 50 lines of code? It can't do it. People might say it's just a problem of scale, but we have no evidence that it can just be scaled up ridiculously and suddenly be so much better. GPT-4 has only slightly bumped its coding skills.
So I suppose ChatGPT will be replacing critical thinking now. Excellent. Lets sit back and do nothing while the country crumbles.
