Is anybody else disgusted that we are closing offices for a few days ahead of layoffs to be able to do them remotely? I guess this management is too scared to be in the same building with people when they tell them that their livelihoods are gone. With such cowardly management, no wonder we need layoffs.

I worked for McD for 16 years starting in 1994. It was a different company then, but still suffered with incompetent management. It’s never senior mgmt who gets laid off and they’re the ones who need to go first! Incompetent management—it’s rampant in corporate America.
Has there been any layoffs? Office was going to be closed Monday through Wednesday and it is now Thursday and haven’t heard a thing.
I wonder, if there will be a facility decision on the future of MHQ. As a former corporate employee, that building has been nearly vacant, since the RTO. Although there was a mandated RTO for 3 days/week. It has been relatively quiet there. I think leadership is regretting their decision to move out to Chicago. I am glad to have moved on and missed this train wreck.
I'll say I think it's a smart move. This is the USA, and we're heavily armed. Having mass layoffs in the office is just asking for trouble.
It's not like the people who will be the "face" of the layoffs are the one's making decisions. Many of them will just be let go the following day after they do leadership's dirty work.
You need to leave a company that does that and put your money where your mouth is… doubt you will! I left a few years ago and warned you all on these boards. Been thriving since.
