Culture is so toxic and they love throwing people under the bus. They say no retaliation, but it always happen and they don’t do anything about it. Management fosters all of that and all they care about is their “EBIDTA” and their investors. Worst company I’ve ever seen

I left this company and definitely glad I did. I loved the people and I was at a senior level, but the toxicity was brutal. I am still in the industry but with a company that is larger and better with its people. I don’t regret anything about leaving Williams. I would NOT
recommend Williams as an employer, primarily based on their senior leadership team.
Even though they are making a ton of money in their business (even Mickey Mouse could make big money in their business) they aren’t very loyal to their employes. For example there was no reason to fire 10% of their staff in 2016, they simply backfilled with new employees a few years later who got the benefits of the hard work and results that the fired employees produced, totally unfair, unethical and unloyal. Have plenty real time examples but aren’t going to waste time going into the details.
Worst culture ever. Such a toxic company! this company fosters retaliation (even though they have a no retaliation policy). LEADERSHIP knows and don’t care. All they care about is to get their projects done. They are as fake as it gets, they don’t care about their employees.
Please do your research before joining this company. There’s no career progression either, it’s old school buddy system.
Just look at their employee retention, that’ll prove it to you. Plus, ask the employees who left, they all agree that it was their best decision.
BOTTOM LINE, DONT JOIN THIS COMPANY

It should be mandatory for everyone graduating high school to be told the following:
Businesses are in the business of making money.
If Williams is the “worst company you’ve ever seen,” then I encourage you to get out more. You poor thing.
If I could leave tomorrow I would. I should have jumped on the wagon last year when market was hot. Any of the leaders that actually care about people are gone. I know it’s a business but I heard one boss actually tell my peer to “just shut up and do it”. That told me all I needed to know.
I turned 60 5 days later they eliminated my position after near 26 years, it was a great ride , but don’t ever let your guard down, it tends to be a popularity contest if you wanna climb the ladder,
Of course companies are business to make money, adapt to this or you will be crushed.
Typical for a large company, extremely political, promotions are rarely based on performance, it’s who you know, whether they like you and how good you are at promoting yourself and the company, and if you are picked to be on the fast track. Of course you need to display a level of competence and the ability to be a “team player” that is the base requirements. They will not hesitate to throw groups of people under the bus during reogranizations, layoffs and even targeting of certain classes as weeding out dead wood. Mergers are tough and the merger with access midstream exposed this behavior, not going into specific details. However again this is typical for a large company.
