The Pro division was on fire just before Covid. They were profitable and growing like crazy. The other divisions (ASD excluded) were failing. When Hess was still there the larger divisions that they were controlling and closer to were failing and Pro who was largely left alone was highly successful in generating new products and growth (something the rest of the company was struggling with) the brilliant executives assigned some of their loyal & clueless upper management and exec comrades to Pro. They thought they would “fix” the company by creating a single product development process throughout all divisions. The first mistake was they had not considered was how were the successful new product ideas generated and what was working and what wasn’t. Pro was doing it! But instead of recognizing this and trying to figure out why they decided that Pro needed to operate like the rest of the company (that was not doing so well). Then they got rid of all the people that brought them the (still) successful Pro products based on their salaries (that were a small fraction of the exec salaries) and because they were not aligned with the poor decisions that were being forced upon them. The result is the idea pipeline dried up. Even three years later the few new products they have come out with were conceived by the people who are no longer there. No new ideas that I’ve seen. Staff is afraid to challenge management because management doesn’t respect them. Overpaid execs created this mess. And overpaid execs are still orchestrating the demise of the company and the brand and collecting their huge salaries. The innovative experienced and talented staff has been replaced by inexperienced lowers paid associates. Sometimes you get what you pay for. And with execs sometimes you don’t get what you pay for. So Pro has been sold….good luck. At least the buyer was smart enough to get rid of some of the puppet exec management that drove it into the ground.

Like the "RCA" doorcrashers at Walmart -- the elderly still associate it with the true RCA of yore. Bring back the Wave Radio with "rum filling sound."

Apparently, Transom has acquired the right to use the Bose brand name and trademarks and the name "Bose Professional" for the business name. "Transom Post OpcCo LLC, dba Bose Professional." As long as this is a successful marketing ploy, they will continue to use it. Even the end of Bose Corporation wouldn't end the name. Just look at the disgrace that happened to the Bell and Howell name.

I heard the same people are running Pro that were there before - wonder how long the name stays? I think it will be a mess .

Maybe PRO will live now that a private equity company is making decisions and not the new woke nutcase running bose.
