2023 API, reorg, budgets and other

We have all heard about the bonus not being as good this year, tight budgets and reorgs are happening. What is next? More layoffs like Dec 2022 or Feb 2020? Lots to do with less people and offshore, new hires are not as good as experience-imo. How about better execution of the other things tried before another change.

To the person who asked about how API is calculated, look on myHR. It’s explained there. There’s a listing in myHR for performance and goals, something like that. Some of it is calculated based in the company’s performance. You can also see how the business goals factor into total performance rating by looking at the page that covers it in the annual business plan. The rest is based in your own performance. A “3” generally means you’ll get about 100% of the amount of bonus you are eligible for based on your job grade. (6.7%, 15% or higher based on your job). After that, the board can vote to increase bonuses based on the company’s performance for the past year. That’s what they did this time and that is why bonuses were larger than expected for some people.

For the person who asked people have been learning about their raises and bonuses since March 1. Since they will be paid out on Friday your supervisor should share your new compensation and bonus payment with you soon. To the person who said bonuses would be less this year, maybe wait until the final tally and the BOD votes in a payout. It is actually a generous payout this time for most people anyways

If you received a 3 rating, you should have gotten up to 134 % of your salary in bonus. Your manager can play with the numbers a little bit across teams but that is what people are getting in general

My bonus was more than last year for the same 3 rating.

The API bonus is based on company performance, so it being different even though you had the same rating is possible

Mine was about 20% less than last year and the lowest it's been since 2019. Same rating every year.

what layoffs in dec? was not aware of any but yes there is def unsettling change happening and it is d-mb. no one i know is happy or feeling secure
